LEAP-RE Clustering workshops webinars - What you need to know!

For the past year, LEAP-RE has led a series of online clustering workshops or webinars.

What is the aim of these clustering workshops?

The LEAP-RE clustering webinars serve as interactive platforms where stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and community representatives, dive into thematic areas addressed by LEAP-RE’s various clusters. Each session is tailored to spotlight ongoing research, showcase best practices, and facilitate synergies among the projects operating within a specific cluster.

This approach not only amplifies the impact of individual LEAP-RE-funded projects but also opens new opportunities for cross-cutting collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Currently, the LEAP-RE project is organised into 13 thematic clusters, each tackling a unique and critical aspect of the renewable energy value chain, spanning technical innovation, data analytics, socio-economic integration, and policy frameworks. These clusters are:

  • Climate Energy Cluster
  • Biomass & Biofuels Clusters
  • Geothermal Cluster and Energy Systems Integration
  • Grid Digitalisation Cluster
  • Water, Food, Energy Cluster
  • Energy Modelling Cluster
  • Data Collection Cluster
  • Hydrogen Cluster
  • Value Chains & End-of-life Management of RE Components Cluster
  • Open Data & Geospatial Cluster
  • Local Communities Cluster
  • GET Invest / AEEP
  • Local Communities and Capacity Building Cluster

Webinar Series: Deep Dives into Innovation

Each episode in the LEAP-RE clustering webinar series focuses on a specific cluster, providing an in-depth look at:

  • Promising research initiatives,
  • Technological breakthroughs and new methodologies,
  • Case studies of real-world impact in Africa and Europe,
  • The primary challenges clusters face, whether technical, regulatory, or social,
  • Strategies for fostering sustainable development and achieving energy access for all.

Guest speakers and project leaders share insights, answer questions, and spark critical discussions that advance both cluster-specific and project-wide objectives. Want to participate? We are open to receiving proposals for topics/speakers at any time.
