The PyroBioFuel partners met at Brandenburg University in Cottbus, Germany, on June 25th and 26th, 2024, to discuss project progress and share results. PyroBioFuel aims to support decentralized, sustainable, and cost-efficient biomass conversion to sustainable fuels for Europe and Africa.
Attendees included:
- The German host team: Principal Investigator (PI) and all German project members
- Cairo University (Egypt): Coordinator and two co-PIs
- Witwatersrand University (South Africa): PI
- CNRS PIMM (France): PI
- Two participants from Morocco attended online
The main goal of the meeting was to review the project’s progress over the past period. Each partner presented their work and plans for the next six months. The PIs also reported issues to the coordinator (Cairo University), including:
- Delays in equipment delivery
- Malfunctions of the pyrolizers
- Longer than expected preparation time for raw materials
Despite these challenges, all partners made good progress according to the project’s Gantt Chart, and several high-impact publications have been produced.
